House of Seven Gables, Salem

House of Seven Gables, Salem

The House of the Seven Gables was made famous by Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel of the same name (1851). It’s a colonial mansion in Salem, Massachusetts built in the 1660s, named, you guessed it, for its gables. The house is now a museum, with an admission fee charged for tours. Tour guide we had was excellent. They make all the difference!
